Booking for Next Term

Please could all bookings for next term be made by the 25^th of March. Due to demand I can no longer hold places and unfortunately anyone who hasn’t booked by this date will automatically loose their place. Some children may be due to move up to the next group and I will be speaking to all parents regarding this, in due course. Classes will restart week beginning 24^th April.

Changes to Class Terms

As you may be aware I have extended class terms from six weeks to twelve. I made this decision based around the school terms in Wakefield, for the last two years holidays have fallen at awkward times. As a result of this I will be continuing twelve week terms from now on. I also feel it benefits the children from minimum disruption of new children joining and also helps keep admin at a minimum.

However, I will always try to be flexible wherever I can with current members.

Changes to Class Names

Due to the expansion of Music for Minors I have introduced new class names and new class structure.

Bouncing Babies                 (4mths to 1yr babies)

Tapping Teddies                 (1-2yrs - previously known as Class 1)

Wiggles and Jiggles         (2-3yrs - previously known as Class 2)

Musical Majors                   (3-5yrs - previously known as Class 2)

I hope this will make things less confusing!

The older class at Crigglestone will be a combination of both Wiggles and Jiggles and Musical Majors dependent on ages attending and will be called Wiggles and Jiggles.

New Classes

A new Bouncing Babies class started at Crigglestone Village Institute on the 21^st of February. This will continue to run up to and after Easter from 11:30-12:00. Please let anyone you know with new babies that they can now put their name down to start after Easter.

I will also be introducing a new Wiggles and Jiggles class at Christ Church, Ossett. This will start on the 28^th of April and will run from 11:00-11:45.

Website Update 

The photographs on my website desperately need updating. I would like to ask all of you permission for photographs of the children to be taken during music sessions and activities. I will be giving out letters asking your permission for some of these photographs to be published on the website. Please could I ask that all parents/guardians sign them regardless of whether you give permission or not.

New Uniform

Some of you may have seen me in my new uniform and I hope to have some T-Shirts available for the children in the near future. Please could you let me know if you would be interested in having a T-Shirt for your child.

Charity Event

Two years ago Music for Minors ran an event to raise money for Meningitis.  We all made musical instruments and had a sing and play-a-long after we’d finished. I will be repeating this on the 18^th of April at Crigglestone Village Institute between 10am-12 noon. Anyone who would like to put forward a charity to raise money for please let me know but ideally I am looking for a children’s charity which is local and for under 5’s.

I am also trying to find a mobile beautician who could provide quickie stress busters for parents on this day and who will donate some proceeds to the charity. Please let me know if you would be interested in this. 

If you would like to come along please let me know so I have a rough idea of numbers.

Please start collecting yoghurt pots, ‘Pringles’ tins, shoe boxes, plastic bottles, pasta, rice, pulses, empty ‘Dairylea’ or similar) boxes, plastic sweet/cake tubs- basically anything we can make shakers, drums etc with.
