September 2008 Term

From September there will be an increase in class fees. Classes will be £4.25 per child per week for Tapping Teddies (1-2yrs), Wiggles & Jiggles (2-3yrs) & Musical Majors (3-5yrs). Bouncing Babies (under 1’s) will stay at £3.25. There is a reduction if you bring two or more children (from the same family) to classes of £1.75.

If you would like to keep your place for September term you will need to book by 2^nd August or I will assume you no longer want the place.  If you have given me cash, cheque or paid Direct by the 2^nd of August you can have your place at the old prices! (£4 TT, WJ, MM £3.25 BB £1.50 reduction for siblings).

September term will start week beginning 1^st September until week ending 6^th December (13 weeks). Half Term Sun 26^th  OCT – 2^nd NOV.

Singing Tuition

 Anyone who has children aged 4 + and would like to start private singing tuition please let me know your available days and times from Monday – Thursday 4pm or 4.30pm sessions starting September. I will be running small groups of four children aged between 4-7yrs (older children can have individual lessons) and we will look at clapping rhythms, vocal warm up exercises and learning a song. Children who have attended Music for Minors classes previously can have sessions at a discounted rate. Please ask for further details. 

CLASSES & HEALTH & SAFETY

Please could I ask everyone to wait outside the room for their class to be called. This is to help reduce the time waiting in the room for a class to start and allow children to settle down quicker. I will be letting everyone in 5 minutes before class starts.

Please can I remind all parents to follow Music for Minors Health and Safety Policy. The policy is in force to prevent accidents and for the safety and comfort of all adults and children who attend classes.

Everyone should have had a copy of the policy when they first joined or if you would like another copy please ask.

I would like to draw particular attention to eating and drinking in class. Food should not be consumed during class for the safety and comfort of everyone. Drinks are permitted and if your child does need a drink please take them to one side. I know Music classes are thirsty Work!

Please can I also ask adults to keep chatting down to a minimum as it can be off-putting for the rest of the class and make it difficult for children to concentrate and be heard.

Raising Funds for Xmas Party!

Music for Minors has entered a new scheme in order to raise funds for extra events.

If you shop via the internet please go to the Music for Minors WebShop first. Anything bought through the WebShop will earn funds which I will then use to go towards events such as the Xmas party, holiday sessions, musical activites & theatre visits. There are hundreds of stores such as Tesco, Play.com, Asda, Dorothy Perkins etc. Just loads - So have a look!

Any money raised before December will go towards a Xmas Party this year. The Party will be on Saturday 13^th and as usual at Walton Village Hall

Holiday Sessions

I will be running some music sessions on Wednesday 6^th August at Christ Church, Ossett. Anyone interested please put your name on the sheet provided in class or you can email me: melanie@musicforminors.co.uk. The sessions will be Kodály based as I ran last year which were a huge success and involved lots of singing, movement and props. Sessions will be at a special price of £2 per child, friends welcome! Stay for picnic lunch! Spaces are limited. There is a wedding in the Church at 11am so you may need to park on the road!
